Make sure when you schedule the tattoo that you have nothing else going on that day. That way neither of us is rushing and/or anxious during our time together and you can go home to rest after a long day of stressing your nervous system.

Hydrate both yourself and your skin days prior to your tattoo by drinking water and using lotions/oils after showering.

Try to get some restful sleep the night before your tattoo, ideally about 10 hours.

Take a nice relaxing shower before coming in, this is both for your benefit and mine.

Do not shave the area we will be tattooing to avoid razer burn and irritation to the skin. I will take care of that during the appointment.

Dress comfortably in clothes that can easily be moved to the side to expose the area we will be tattooing. In addition to that, make sure these are clothes that you don’t mind staining. I will try my best to not stain your clothes but we are working with ink and bodily fluids, so lets just be careful.

You will be cold so bring a hoodie, sweater, socks, blanket etc. This is a normal reaction since we will be causing harm to your body and your nervous system goes into slight shock, which causes your body temperature to drop a bit.

Make sure to bring snacks and water. You will need to keep hydrated and you might need a sugar boost at some point.

You may also bring a book, phone, headphones, fidget toy etc. Trust me, I will not get offended if you decide you need to zone or distract yourself out during the session. Your comfort is my priority.

Try to leave the outside world out the door. You and your body will be stressed enough as is. This day is about you.

Last but not least, bring yourself and your voice. Remember that this is a collaboration and your thoughts are essential. This will be on you for the rest of your life, so lets get it right.
